The skincare essentials I swear by

Dealing with skincare issues is something a lot of us face daily, including myself. I have had some real lows where my skin is so dry that I just couldn’t put make-up on as you would see the dry patches. Our skin is such a huge part of who we are that it is so important to take time out to look after it, but it can be so tricky to find the right products with thousands of choices being sold to us. I only now, as a 26 year old, really feel happy and content with my skincare routine and the products that I use. Of course there are many more products I am yet to try, but for now, these are my skincare staples!

I have always been taught to cleanse, tone and moisturise, and that is the skincare regime I live by. So to cleanse I use Simple Hydrating Micellar Water. This is a new formula for dehydrated dry skin and its incredible. I always used to use make-up removal wipes before I discovered micellar cleansing water and I think they were a huge part of why my skin was so dry. This is fresh, light and gets out all of the dirt! If you having tried micellar water yet, I would highly recommend this formula.

For the next step I use Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner. Now, I do have very sensitive skin and Simple are just such an incredible product, and really do contain the most natural of ingredients. To be honest, I haven’t tried that many toners, but I have never had any issues with the Simple facial toner, so I have no intentions of changing.

Now time for moisturiser and the newest addition to my skincare essentials ,Aveeno Moisturising Cream . This cream has genuinely changed my skin in the last few weeks. I have struggled for years to find a good yet non-greasy moisturiser. Aveeno is a brand I have heard a lot about and a brand I really wanted to try. I received this as a gift for Christmas and thank goodness I did! It’s light, it’s odour is light and natural and it contains Colloidal Oatmeal; which also helps with irritation of the skin. I cannot recommend this moisturiser enough.

Now these two other essentials are simple beauty items we might have around the house that can be used if our skin is having a bit of a hissy fit! Vaseline Lip Therapy Petroleum Jelly  and Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream  have solved some bad skin moments. On new years eve I woke up with my face covered in dry, bumpy skin. I was mortified. I went to the pharmacy thinking I needed some fancy cream when in fact I was told it was due to the cold wind and to use Vaseline. Well, my cheap Vaseline pot got rid of the rash within 4 days! And Sudocrem is great if you have a break out of spots. Pop on the cream before you go to bed and I guarantee you your spots will look less aggressive in the morning. I find that Sudocrem calms down my skin and gets rid of the redness, particularly if I have a breakout.

So there we go! My skincare essentials and hopefully a couple of handy tips. Please let me know if you have any must-have skin care products 🙂

Until next time my lovelies,

  4. I love Aveeno products. Their body wash is the only one I can use that doesn’t make my legs break out like crazy. I also use a product though called “Egyptian Magic”, and it can be bought on Amazon, its a little pricey but it is a lifesaver! Its similar to vaseline but different at the same time. Great product recommendations!
