At the beginning of January, it was my birthday! One of the presents my boyfriend got me, was a weekend away to our favourite hotel in Eastbourne. (What I got for my 26th Birthday) Eastbourne is in East Sussex and is a seaside town. We like Eastbourne, but we come back purely for the hotel. The hotel is called Ravilious. It is a beautiful, Victorian town house. It is about 2 minute walk from the town centre and about a 5 minute walk from the sea front.
We traveled up on the Friday lunch time to check in for 2pm. We always stay in room 10, and you will see why. The minute we put our bags down, I was running a bath! (Which comfortably fits 2 people)It is a large room, and as you will see with the pictures below, the bath is in the bedroom, just behind a wall. It also has a seperate bathroom with a large shower. The room has everything you need for a great stay, including a very comfortable bed.
That evening we ate out at Zizzi, which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You can always guarantee a bloody good pizza at Zizzi! I had the Margarita Rustica and it was soooo good. And yes, I demolished it 😀
The next morning, we were up at 8:30 and ready for breakfast. As we have stayed here before, we knew the breakfast was of an extremely high standard, so we were very excited! The cooked menu is small, with about 3 or 4 items on it. You can help yourself to juice, milk, yoghurts, cereal, croissants and also there is a selection of jams, nutella and butter. Toast is also served just before your cooked breakfast. Both my boyfriend and I went for Eggs Benedict with salmon. Beautifully served and again, I have nothing to fault.
We spent the Saturday in town, doing a bit of shopping. They do a have a good selection of shops including River Island, Laura Ashley, Primark, Debenhams and Topshop. However the shopping centre is currently having a huge renovation and will be a lot bigger and include a Cineworld. I didn’t actually pick up anything. I still have a few River Island vouchers to spend, but nothing is catching my eye for now.
Our Saturday evening was pretty boring. We stayed in and chilled. We both had a bit of business to do, so we were busy with that. We seem to have this tradition when we go away for the weekend, that we always go out for dinner on one of the nights and get food in the second night. We ended up getting McDonald’s and watching the big bang theory.
Sunday we did the journey back home! I hate leaving this hotel as its such a nice space, it feels like we have rented a small apartment. We already have another stay booked here in August for our anniversary.
I hope you enjoyed reading about our stay in Eastbourne. If you have any questions or any recommendations for our next stay, then please leave a comment or email me!
